The one that takes place in the spring...🌷
I still remember writing this book and finally getting Lora out of the cold and snow of the previous two books. Of course, where she landed may not have been that much better;)
“He released me and I walked to the fence, found a gap between some bushes, and hoisted myself up and over, landing on my backside in my neighbor’s petunia bed. All readied for spring early with fresh soil and judging by the smell, fresh fertilizer. Yuck.
Damp dirt seeped into my jeans, and I scrambled up and brushed as much of it off me as I could, knowing full well it was too late, my entire lower half feeling like it had just been treated to a mud bath. Which it had since it was too early in the season for petunias to sprout.
I swiped more dirt off the jacket I’d thrown on over my sweater. “Just so you know,” I said to Laurent. “I’ll be billing the cost of new jeans as a work expense.”
He grinned at me, his own clothes pristine clean, having cleared the fence with space to spare and landed on his feet. “Ah, oui. Worth every penny.”
